CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

Abstract Submission Guidelines & Details

The Scientific Committee welcomes the submission of abstracts for free paper or e-poster presentation at the 10th Regional Scientific Meeting of Paediatric Dermatology in conjunction with the 46th Annual Dermatology Conference of the Dermatological Society of Malaysia 2021. Abstracts should not exceed 250 words.

Submissions on paediatric dermatology, adolescent dermatology and general dermatology will be considered.

Submissions on the following will be considered:
> clinical studies
> case presentations

Topics of abstract submission should be in the following categories

  1. Inflammatory skin disorders
  2. Vascular Anomalies
  3. Pigmentary Disorders
  4. Genodermatoses
  5. Neonatal dermatoses
  6. Infective skin disorders
  7. Autoimmune and connective tissue disorders
  8. Allergic skin diseases
  9. Adverse cutaneous drug reactions
  10. Laser therapy
  11. Paediatric dermatological procedures

Free Paper Presentation
Oral presentation will be allocated 10 minutes - 8 minutes verbal presentation and 2 minutes for questions.

E-Poster Presentation
E-posters can include single case presentation. It should be concise and precise.

Nursing Free Paper presentation
There will be a separate nursing free paper presentation session on the last day . Each presentation will be also allocated 10 minutes - 8 minutes verbal presentation and 2 minutes for questions. Topics chosen should be related to the role of nurses in managing paediatric dermatology cases.

RULES & REGULATIONS
  1. Abstracts must be submitted in English
  2. Abstracts must not have been submitted to any other national or international conference
  3. The material in the abstract must be original and not previously published
  4. Abstract should be based on findings that are ethical and valid and obtained using rigorous scientific and/or clinical methods.
  5. All authors must agree with the entire contents of submitted abstract and verbal consent must be obtained from all listed authors.
  6. Abstract should be prepared according to the template provided below.
  7. Abstracts may only be submitted ONLINE through this page. Abstracts submitted by email, fax or post will NOT be accepted.
  8. All abstracts received will be independently reviewed by the Scientific Committee and accepted based on scientific value and educational need. The top 12 abstracts will be selected for oral presentation. Abstracts will be selected from the 11 categories listed above for oral presentation and e-poster to ensure a good mixture of both. .
  1. For the nursing free paper presentation, the top 9 abstracts will be selected for oral presentation. Topics chosen should be related to the role of nurses in managing paediatric dermatology cases
  2. Please state which topic of submission and also the type of presentation desired (oral presentation or e-poster) However only the top 12 abstracts will be selected for oral presentation. If nursing free paper presentation is desired please indicate in the appropriate column.
  3. Decision by Scientific Committee will be final and no appeals will be entertained
  4. The deadline for abstract submission is  31st May 2021. Abstracts submitted after the deadline will NOT be accepted.
  5. Abstracts must be accompanied by payment of registration fees. - If the abstract is subsequently not accepted for presentation, the registration fee will be refunded to the author in accordance with the cancellation policy at the behest of the author.
ABSTRACT TEMPLATE

  1. A short capitalized title that indicates content of abstract. Abbreviations must not be used in the title.
  2. Authors are to ensure that their names submitted are correct based on first name and last (family) name. Do not include degrees or titles. Presenting author's name should be underlined. List each author's institution, city, state and country. The maximum number of authors allowed will be 5.
  3. Do not exceed 250 words.
  4. Organize the content under these subtitles:
    • Introduction & Objectives: A sentence describing the purpose of the study
    • Methodology: Describe your selection of observations or experimental subjects precisely
    • Results: Describe your results in a logical sequence
    • Conclusions
      If your abstract describes a case report, you can insert the whole text under the “Results” section.
  5. References are not required for abstract submission.
  6. Check spelling and grammar carefully. If selected, direct reproduction of your electronically submitted abstract will be uploaded directly to the conference mobile apps

Please ensure that your e-mail address is accurate at the time of submission. All correspondence will be sent via e-mail to the corresponding author. Authors will be notified by early May 2021 as to the acceptance status of their submissions, including the assignment of session category and presentation format (oral or e-poster).

  • Upon successful submission, you will be assigned an Abstract Number.
    You should save this number for reference and communication purposes.
